Start free. Upgrade when you need more projects or a shared Lab workspace. On Lab, seats see the Lab project list; opening a project needs an invite or approved access request. Approved work uses the full Lab feature set, and everyone can still keep personal projects. Prices are in USD.

FAQ

Labs, plans, billing, and how projects work.

Labs & collaborationShared workspaces, seats, and who can edit.
What is a Lab?

A shared workspace for your group. Members see Lab projects in one list. Opening a project needs an invite or approved access request. Lab projects get Lab features (unlimited projects, version history, larger uploads, and more). When you create a project, choose Lab project or My project (personal).

What’s the difference between My projects, Lab projects, and Shared projects?

My projects are yours and use your personal plan. Lab projects are in the Lab list and use Lab features. Shared projects are invites outside a Lab.

If I’m on a Lab seat, am I on the Lab plan?

No. Your personal projects still use your own plan. Lab projects use Lab features. The Lab owner pays.

Who can edit a Lab project?

The creator can edit. Other members see it in the list but must request access. The Lab owner approves from Account → Lab.

How is Lab different from Researcher?

Researcher: coauthors on your projects (up to 2 people including you). Lab: shared project list, up to 10 accounts, up to 10 people per project, viewer roles, and Lab features.

How do I add people to my Lab?

Account → Lab → invite by email. After they join, they see Lab projects, then need project access before they can open or edit.

What happens if someone leaves the Lab?

They lose Lab access. Projects they created become their personal projects. Pending access requests on those projects are canceled.

What happens if the Lab owner cancels or downgrades?

Scheduled cancel: Lab keeps working until the paid period ends. When Lab ends: seats go away, collaborators lose project access, pending invites and requests are canceled, and each Lab project becomes personal for its creator.

I’m a Lab member—what do I see if the Lab ends?

The Lab leaves your list. Projects you created move to My projects (you keep them). You lose access to other people’s Lab projects unless they invite you again. Your personal plan stays the same.

Plans & limitsWhat each plan is for and what happens at the limits.
Which plan should I start with?

Start on Free. Move to Student for more personal projects and custom analysis values. Pick Researcher if you need a few coauthors on projects you own. Pick Lab if your group needs one shared workspace.

What counts as an “active project”?

Personal projects you own count toward your plan limit. Lab projects count under the Lab (unlimited on Lab). Extra projects past your limit stay readable but locked for editing until you upgrade or delete some.

Can I collaborate on Free or Student?

No. Those plans are solo. Use Researcher for up to 2 people per project including you, or join a Lab for a shared group (up to 10 accounts including the Lab owner).

Can I change plans later?

Yes, from Account → Plan. If you downgrade and have too many projects, extras become read-only until you free space or upgrade. Leaving Lab also closes the Lab workspace (see Labs & collaboration).

Do Lab members need their own paid plan?

Not for Lab work. They only need a paid plan if they want paid features on their own personal projects.

Billing & accountsPayments, invoices, and who pays for the Lab.
Who pays for a Lab?

The Lab owner. Seats are not billed separately. For invoices or purchase orders on Lab, contact us.

Is there a student discount or yearly pricing?

Student is a lower-priced plan. Every paid plan also has yearly billing, which costs less per month than paying monthly.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You keep access through the period you already paid for. Cancel from Account → Billing. If you cancel Lab, it stays open until that date, then closes (see Labs & collaboration).

Do you offer refunds?

Billing runs through Stripe. If a charge looks wrong, email support and we will help.

Product & dataWriting, analysis, exports, and your files.
What can I do in a project?

Upload data, run analyses, build figures, manage citations, write the manuscript with live numbers from your data, and export (including DOCX).

Can multiple people edit the manuscript at once?

Yes on plans that support collaboration. You can share a project as editor or viewer. Live co-editing is available when it is turned on for your setup.

Who owns the data and manuscripts?

You do. Your projects and files belong to your account (or the Lab for Lab projects). You can export or delete them anytime.

Is my research data used to train AI models?

No. We do not use your project content to train public AI models. See the Privacy Policy for how account data is handled.

What if I need a department or campus license?

Email support for quotes, purchase orders, or more seats than one Lab.
