What is a Lab?
A shared space for your group. Members see Lab projects together; each project still needs an invite or access approval to open.
What’s the difference between My projects, Lab projects, and Shared projects?
They’re sections in your project library. My projects are yours. Lab projects belong to the group list. Shared projects are invites outside a Lab. You can also star favorites and organize with labels.
How do I organize projects on the home screen?
Use Home for Favorites and Recent, star projects you care about, and create labels (with colors) to group work. Switch between grid and list whenever you like.
If I’m on a Lab seat, am I on the Lab plan?
No. Your own projects still use your plan. Lab projects use the Lab owner’s plan.
Who can edit a Lab project?
The creator, plus anyone they’ve invited from Share or approved from Account → Lab.
How is Lab different from Researcher?
Researcher is for a few coauthors on your projects. Lab is for a whole group with a shared project list.
How do I add people to my Lab?
Account → Lab → invite by email. Then invite them to a project from Share, or approve their access request.
What happens if someone leaves the Lab?
They lose Lab access. Projects they created become personal. Pending access requests on those projects are canceled.
What if I’m already on someone’s Lab and I upgrade to Lab?
You leave that Lab when your Lab plan starts. Projects you created there become personal. You lose access to others’ projects in that Lab unless invited again.
What happens if the Lab owner cancels or downgrades?
The Lab keeps working until the paid period ends. Then members lose Lab access, and each Lab project becomes personal for its creator.
I’m a Lab member—what do I see if the Lab ends?
Projects you created move to My projects. You lose access to others’ Lab projects unless they invite you again.

Which plan should I start with?
Start on Free. Upgrade when you need more projects, collaborators, or a Lab for your group.
What counts as an “active project”?
Personal projects you own. Extra projects past your limit stay readable but locked for editing until you upgrade or delete some.
Can I collaborate on Free or Student?
No — those are solo. Use Researcher for a small coauthor group, or Lab for a shared group workspace.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, from Account → Plan. Downgrading with too many projects makes extras read-only until you free space or upgrade.
Do Lab members need their own paid plan?
Not for Lab work. They only need a paid plan for paid features on their own projects.

Who pays for a Lab?
The Lab owner. For invoices or purchase orders, contact us.
Is there a student discount or yearly pricing?
Student is a lower-priced plan. Yearly billing costs less per month than monthly.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You keep access through the period you already paid for, from Account → Billing.
Do you offer refunds?
Billing runs through Stripe. If a charge looks wrong, email support and we will help.

What can I do in a project?
Write the manuscript, manage data, images, analyses, charts, math, citations, and variables, then export. BibTeX/RIS and DOI lookup are on all plans; Zotero and Mendeley sync require a paid plan.
Can multiple people edit the manuscript at once?
Yes on plans that support collaboration. Share as editor or viewer from the project.
Who owns the data and manuscripts?
You do. Export or delete anytime.
Is my research data used to train AI models?
No. See the Privacy Policy for how account data is handled.
What if I need a department or campus license?
Email support for quotes, purchase orders, or larger Labs.
